I was trained at Nouveau Contour Academy in Orlando, FL. to learn and master permanent makeup. Before going to school for permanent makeup, I studied studio art for 7 years, mastering the craft of painting, drawing, and sculpting.
I started taking art classes in grade 10, discovering a natural talent to draw and an appreciation of art. I continued art classes until I graduated High School, even winning awards my senior year for “best in show” in an art show held at the local community college.
I furthered my art studies at Kaskaskia college for 2 years then transferred to SIUE. At SIUE I started specializing in portraiture and realism while learning advanced color theory methods and art history. (Ancient Roman and Greek sculptures will forever have my heart) With back-up plans of becoming an art professor one day and dreaming of being a tattoo artist, I strictly studied everything art.
One day I was told about permanent makeup. I had never known such a thing existed. I immediately got to work finding the best schools to go to. After months of searching, I was on an airplane headed to Nouveau Contour Academy in Orlando. Once there, I fell in love with permanent makeup.
In spring of 2018, all of my focus was on starting a permanent makeup career. I was 22 and faced with opening a business. I stumbled across the most perfect studio in the heart of downtown Centralia, my hometown. I wanted to be different in the industry by meshing my artistic experiences and makeup to create some of the most natural looks.
Now in 2024, I am still doing what I love and learning everyday. I will never stop learning. I still do art on the side as well. Because of the unwavering support from my community and clients, Studio Bee has survived a pandemic and many other obstacles. I promise to keep learning and perfecting the craft of permanent makeup.
